Mr. Basudeo Narain Singh, our Managing Director has been associated with Alkem Lab's ever since its inception. Mr. B N Singh along with our Chairman has been integral to the evolution of the organization in every facet.

His dynamic vision and strategic leadership have helped nurture Alkem Lab's growth to its present glorious state. He is a great source of motivation for the Alkem Lab's family and is well recognized for his exemplary work ethics and the discipline he brings about in the day-to-day functioning of the organization.

Mr. B N Singh also holds the coveted position of President of the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA). The IDMA is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers' association of India with a representation of 650 members including large, medium and small scale units manufacturing dosage forms, active ingredients, intermediates, biological, vaccines and herbal drugs. As president of the IDMA, Mr. B N Singh leads its activities which play an important role in shaping the future of the Indian pharmaceutical industry.

Mr. B N Singh has been conferred upon with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in the year 2000 by Pharma Business & Technology for being one of the most distinguished entrepreneurs of the Indian pharmaceutical industry. He is also the recipient of the “Medicine Update Lifetime Achievement Award – Health food” in 2002 for his outstanding achievements in the pharmaceutical industry, as one of its most successful entrepreneurs. In 2004, he was yet again honored with the prestigious “Lifetime Contribution Award” at the Express Pharma Excellence Awards, which is a bespectacled laurel in the Indian pharmaceutical industry.
